Brandon was recently ranked the #1 city in which to live in Western Canada. We are proud of our city and, of course, pleased to receive such encouraging recognition. While continuing to ensure that Brandon is one of the most cost affordable communities in Canada, we are investing heavily in quality of life for our residents.
This year, the 2nd of 5 new recreational hubs is being created in the Linden Lanes area, featuring basketball, beach volleyball, picnic area and splash park. A new Skateboard Park is now under construction, the Wheat City Golf Course has received substantial improvements and upgrades, and we continue to add to our network of over 44 kilometers of bicycle/walking paths. Due to combined efforts of community members, the third off-leash dog park is underway in the City’s west end. Quality of life is high priority in Brandon.

Regular Siren testing to take place the first Wednesday of each month at 4:40 PM.

To give everyone an opportunity to learn what the sirens sound like and to ensure the equipment remains in operating condition we will be conducting regular monthly tests of the siren system. Each test will begin and end with a public address announcement through the system. All sirens will be activated for 2 minutes followed by the Westminster Chime "All Clear" signal.
