| Welcome to the Brandon Skate Plaza’s webpage. This page will inform you about the development of this exciting project. You will be able to navigate your way through the plaza using concept drawings, learn about the history and importance of the site, read up on the sport of skateboarding and print the pledge form so you can make your donation. The skate plaza will have benefits for the entire City of Brandon so the Brandon Skate Plaza Group is asking the community to “Get on Board”. The Brandon Skate Plaza Group, in partnership with the City of Brandon, is working toward the development of a skate plaza in downtown Brandon. This plaza will provide many benefits to Brandon and the Westman area. Brandon’s youth will be served by providing them an innovative, accessible and challenging skate plaza. The plaza will promote healthy living as many active and passive users will travel to the site by walking, skating or biking. The plaza will have seating areas, trees and landscaping, that will make non-active users feel welcome. The location, the former site of the Prince Edward Hotel, has served as a cornerstone in the development of Brandon and the skate plaza will rejuvenate this site for the future. This is truly a community project with the benefits trickling down to many citizens in the City of Brandon and the surrounding area. | |
