City of Brandon Greenspace Maintenance

The City of Brandon Parks Department maintains City owned greenspace in public areas. The grass in these areas is cut from April to September on six-route cycle. This cycle is followed throughout these months assuming the climate supports a regular grass growth. The maintained greenspace includes City Parks, greenspace around walking and cycling paths, and center boulevards of streets.

Flowers are also planted in these areas by the Parks staff as well as community volunteers. As the City of Brandon prepares for the Community in Blooms competition, City staff has placed out 305 boulevard planters, which consist of Supertunia & Wave Petunias, Sweet Potato Vine and Calibrachoa. Throughout downtown and Eleanor Kidd Park, there are almost 500 hanging flower baskets. Flowers in these baskets include Dichondra, Lotus Vine, Supertunias & Wave Petunias, Sweet Potato Vine and Calibrachoa.
