Message from His Worship Mayor Dave Burgess
As you travel around our fine city, it is impossible to miss the vast construction and improvements forging ahead.
The past year has been productive with the many road, highway, and bridge projects; the Assiniboine Community College project; and the new Fire Hall.
Housing construction continues at a fast pace and more is needed to address a near-zero vacancy rate. The new Police Services building will proceed shortly and 2010 will see the construction of the new YMCA, the Skateboard Park, and the newest recreation hub to be located in Linden Lanes. Brandon is an exciting city that just keeps getting better.
How often will I hear the Alerting Tone?
Regular Siren testing to take place the first Wednesday of each month at 4:40 PM.
To give everyone an opportunity to learn what the sirens sound like and to ensure the equipment remains in operating condition we will be conducting regular monthly tests of the siren system. Each test will begin and end with a public address announcement through the system. All sirens will be activated for 2 minutes followed by the Westminster Chime "All Clear" signal.
