Property Control Under the direction of the court services section the property and evidence section is charged with the control, care, custody, and security of items that have been seized, recovered, or lost. The property section operates Monday to Friday between the hours of 8:00am to 4:00 pm. This is a critical section of Brandon Police Service that supports both the Patrol and Investigative areas by maintaining evidence and property for criminal trials and by providing a method of returning property to its rightful owner. Thousands of pieces of exhibits and /or property are processed each year under the direct supervision of our Property Clerk as to ensure the safekeeping and proper continuity of all exhibits prior to entering the Court system. How do I get my property back? You must phone Brandon Police Service 729-2345 between the hours of 8:00am and 4:00 pm to arrange for your property pick-up. Property is released only to the legal owner of the property or their designate unless it is being held as evidence in a criminal case, then it may not be available for release. What do I need to bring with me to collect my property? You must bring at least one piece of appropriate identification that includes your name and date of birth, in addition some proof of ownership for the item you are picking up. *ALWAYS RECORD SERIAL NUMBERS OF ALL YOUR PROPERY AND KEEP IN A SAFE PLACE* |
