Mountain Bike Patrol Brandon Police Service re-implemented its Bike Patrol in the spring of 2005. The bike unit consists of 2 uniformed members from the Community Services section. The officers patrol the entire city, but concentrate more on the downtown area along with neighboring parks and walkways. The unit has proved to be a viable and useful resource for the city. Along with their regular patrol duties they also focus on: · Ensuring smooth flowing traffic · Enforcing pedestrian, cyclist, vehicle and skateboard violations · Responding to thefts, vandalism and break-ins · Serving as ambassadors to the City of Brandon · Enforcing the laws on Brandon’s pathways and parks The Bike unit is in operation for the duration of the summer months |
